Commercial Cookery Package
Overview
International student can study Commercial Cookery courses on a student visa with packaged Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) issued under Australian Professional Skills Institute. This package is highly recommended to International students in order to fulfill Study in Australia with a CRICOS provider for 2 years ( 96 weeks) requirements for Graduate Visa applications.
The following is our recommended two year course package for a qualified chef qualification.
Course 1: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery + Course 2: Certificate IV in Kitchen Management + Course 3: Diploma of Hospitality Management
Course Package Details
Course 1: SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery whose course duration is 12 months.
Course 2: SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (with credit transfer from Certificate III in Commercial Cookery) for an additional 6 months.
TOTAL VISA DURATION FOR COURSE 1 + 2 = 1.5 years
Course 3: SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management (with credit transfer from Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery) for an additional 6 months.
TOTAL VISA DURATION FOR COURSE 1 + 2 + 3 is 2 years for a two-year visa.
There is a one-off application fee for international students.

The minimum payment required for CoE will be outlined in your offer letter.
In addition, after completion of the Diploma of Hospitality Management, you may want to consider continuing your studies with an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.
Course 4: SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management ( additional 6 months -subject to credit transfer)

As an international student on a student visa, you are required to attend face-to-face training sessions for 20 hours per week on campus. This is with the exception of whether you are on workplace training or supervised practical training.
We have three commercial kitchen training facilities which students will rotate in each term.

Please note this course is not suitable for persons unable to handle meat, seafood, poultry or dairy products.
