Unit Name: Provide First Aid
General Description
The one day Provide First Aid course would benefit all aged care and disability support workers in the workplace. This course provides an excellent general background knowledge in first aid. You will learn how to perform appropriate first aid procedures, including CPR and basic life support skills.
Once your enrolment is confirmed, you will get access to the online portal – Moodle and you can start to view all resources and complete online self-paced at your own time.
You will attend one day face to face training and practical demonstration in our East Perth campus with a qualified first aid trainer.
If all assessments are marked satisfactory, you will receive your first aid certificate within 2 days.

Unit Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Mode of Delivery
Part 1 is self-paced e-learning whereas participants are given a full set of course materials and knowledge quiz through APSI online portal. Participants can complete all reading materials and complete the knowledge quiz before attending part 2 of the course.
Part 2 is a 1 full day practical assessment where you are required to demonstrate your practical skills via observation, incident report, role plays and different scenarios.
Once you have successfully completed the knowledge and practical assessments, a statement of attainment will usually be issued within two working days.

A nationally recognised statement of attainment will be issued upon satisfactory completion of all assessments.
English Entry Eligibility
Entry level: Upper Intermediate
Or those currently studying in an upper Intermediate class.
Proof of English level will be required at the time of enrolment.

Uniform
You are required to wear flat covered non-slip shoes amd comfrtale clothing for practical training.
