Aliny Conceicio
Student Services Manager
Aliny has over 12 years of experience in managing people and organisations, both in Australia and overseas, being eight years in operations and customer services in the International Education Industry in Western Australia,
Aliny provides training and support to the Student Services team, assisting with escalated enquiries and dealing with complaints and appeals. She provides operational management to APSI campus and its facilities, overseeing the administrative functions of orientation, graduation, student interventions and all other aspects of the student cycle; systems and data management. Aliny is a highly motivated individual and committed to building and maintaining excellent student services with students and key stakeholders.
Kayleen Lord
Training and Compliance Manager
Kayleen has over 19 years of experience in coordination and management positions, with a particular emphasis on the vocational and educational sector for over a decade. Kayleen served as both a trainer and assessor, conducting lectures for a diverse group of students. With this experience, she brings a wealth of practical knowledge and understanding to her current role as the Training and Compliance Manager at APSI, Kayleen ensures that trainers receive comprehensive training aligned with organizational goals and industry standards. She maintains adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices, thereby contributing to APSI’s training and compliance management.
Katherine Cui
Executive Assistant
Katherine Cui provides academic and administrative support to the management team and is a vital link among APSI’s internal and external stakeholder.
Katherine has extensive administrative and sales work experience in real estate industry before joining APSI. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Financial Management from China and a Master degree of Professional accounting from the University of Western Australia. Katherine is fluent in Mandarin.
Icy Zhang
Admissions Officer
Icy Zhang began her journey with APSI as an Administrative Assistant and, due to her exceptional work quality, was promoted to the role of Admissions Officer. Originally from China, Icy holds a Bachelor of Management and Finance, as well as a Master of Finance, from the University of Western Australia. In her current role, she oversees admissions administration and manages relationships with education agents. Icy is fluent in Mandarin and English.
Charity Balgoa
Administrative Officer
Charity Balgoa began her career with APSI as an Administrative Assistant after completing a Certificate III in Hospitality. Her dedication, strong work ethic, and positive attitude resulting in her promotion to Administrative Officer. In this capacity, she plays a vital role in providing academic administrative support to the academic department.
Charity holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Far Eastern University in the Philippines and is fluent in both Tagalog and English.
Jerri Lo
Accounts & Student Services Officer
Jerri is the accounts officer and looks after the day to day bookkeeping and the accounts of APSI. Jerri assists students with their queries on fees and payment plan. Jerri knows all the difficulties with being a foreign student as she was one before. It is this firsthand experience that drives Jerri to ensure all students are provided with the right level of care and advice to ensure their problems are resolved. Jerri speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She holds an Accounting degree from Jinan University in China and a Masters of Human Resource Management from Edith Cowan University.
Angelica Garcia
Student Services Officer
Angelica Garcia arrived in Australia as an international student, studying marketing and management. She began her career as a student counsellor, helping international students navigate course selection and career pathways. With firsthand experience of the challenges international students face, Angelica is passionate about supporting them in achieving their academic and career goals.
In her current role, Angelica assists the Student Services Manager in ensuring that APSI students receive comprehensive support throughout their study journey. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication and Journalism and is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Rainer Konstanty
Rainer was born in Germany and from a young age, Rainer has always been interested in food – he credits his mother as one of the most gifted cooks that created the tastiest food from an enormous veggie patch, fruit orchard, flowers, herbs and rabbits that nourished his family.
Rainer’s professional career started in a small hotel and restaurant in northern Germany in 1986 and completed a 3-year apprenticeship as a chef. During this time he learnt the culinary basics from renowned European chefs that shared their knowledge and skills.
He continued his passion for food, travelling to Hamburg, London, Zurich, Sydney and in Perth since 2009. Rainier spent 6 years “banging pots and pans around” in two upmarket Perth restaurants. With his industry networks and connections, Rainer has successful placed APSI students in prestigious dining venues such as the Wild Flowers in Como the Treasury hotel, Hadiqa in Hibernian Place and Westin Hotel.
Christopher Eales
Chris has worked at a range of English gastropubs and Michelin starred restaurants before moving to Australia in 2013. He started working at Balthazar before running the kitchen’s of Bread in Common and Coogee Common.
He began cooking in his early 20s after studying politics at Bristol university, following a passion that he got from his grandmother’s and then father’s home cooked food. Chris loves to create dishes using fresh vegetables and herbs from his home garden and local producers.
With over 15 years of experience at the high end of the hospitality industry he looks forward to passing on his knowledge to the next generation of great chef’s!
Sue Zehnder
Sue has dedicated many years inside the hospitality industry, this is inclusive of preparing food for 5-star hotels, restaurants, cafes, and outside catering for events that have over 5000 guests. Additionally, Sue has won Pastry Chef of the Year and Gold Medals in Salon Culinaire Competition run by Catering Institute of Australia. These achievements highlight her knowledge and showcase her as a valued trainer for APSI students. Qualifications include, Certificate in Catering and Hotel management, Trade certificate in Cookery and Advanced Patisserie.
With no intent to slow down the last 5 years Sue has been working in a Certified Organic Kitchen learning about sustainability, also specialising in gluten free, vegan, sour dough baking, fermentation, preserving and other dietary requirements in Pastry and Cookery.
Matt Loader
Originally from the south west of England Matt began his career as an apprentice at The Gala Restaurant in Applecross working for certified German Master Chefs who gave him a solid grounding in classic cooking techniques. Post apprenticeship his career took him to many kitchens both in Perth and Michelin starred establishments across the UK. Recently Matt was Sous Chef at The Heritage Wine Bar during which time the venue won and retained a chefs hat in the national Good Food Guide alongside other awards. He was also part of the senior management team for the opening of Indigo Oscar in Cottesloe.
Seeing and helping young cooks evolve and develop into very strong and confident chefs is something that has always given Matt a huge sense of pride. Now at APSI Matt is hoping to pass on the knowledge he has learnt during his career to future chefs and give them the mentorship that many chefs gave to him.
Josh Chen
Josh’s culinary journey began in Taiwan at the age of 15, where he discovered his passion for cooking by preparing meals for friends and family.
In 2012, he brought his talents to Perth, Australia, where he pursued formal culinary qualifications. During his time at TAFE, Josh represented Team Australia at the International Culinary Competition, securing a prestigious gold medal in the Fine Dining category and a trophy that remains proudly displayed at SM TAFE Bentley.
Following his studies, Josh worked at Fraser’s restaurant for a few years, mainly doing wedding functions. He has spent six successful years at Petition Kitchen, State Building, and was made Head Chef in Petition Kitchen. During his time there, Josh’s team acquired several awards, including Chef Hat Awards from the Australia Good Food Guide and Restaurant of the Year from the Australian Hotels Association.
In recent years, Josh has been part of a few restaurant openings including the role of head chef at Gage Road Brewery Fremantle, La Lune Fremantle, and many more cafes and restaurants across Perth’s suburbs.
Deb Kerrison
Deb’s passion is people development, team building, and growing leadership capacity. With 20 years of experience in Management and People Development, Deb has extensive experience in coaching and mentoring individuals, groups and organisations. Deb completed her Master of Business Leadership at Curtin Graduate School of Business. Deb is an expert in training and development providing support and upskilling to build business and leadership capacity with a hands-on interactive and fun approach to learning.
She can effectively liaise with participants to understand the values and goals of their career development needs to align with professional and personal developmental plans (PDP’s). Her approach also involves building knowledge to sustain and align mission, vision statements and support customer value propositions (CVP) to enhance individual performance. Her expertise also involves conducting a training needs analysis of participants for future business development and training purposes to meet goals and objectives.
